HOW TO SOLVE BOOTING PROBLEM ON SRT 4950H AND SRT 4950E SATELLITE TV DECODERS.

In this article, I'm going to show you how to solve the booting problem in "SRT 5950 H" and "SRT 4950 E". Sometimes you will see "boot" displayed in the screen of these two decoders that it will remain like that without booting as shown in the image above.
This normally happens when the software on the decoder had expired.

To solve this problem, you will first download the latest software for the type of your decoder from the website of strong technology. If you can't access the internet with your computer, you can download the software with your mobile phone and transfer the file into your PC.
If your decoder is SRT 4950H download 4950H software, the same applies to 4950E.

Having done with your download, get a clean quality flash drive (pen drive).
Rename or change the name of the downloaded file to "rom" from your PC and send it into flash drive. Take the drive from the PC and insert it into the drive slot of your decoder.
Power on the decoder and press the power button in front of the decoder at the same time and your upgrade will start immediately. After the upgrade your decoder will boot successful and you are all set!

NOTE: Do not put the file into a folder in your pen drive but put it into the root direct. If you put the file into a folder, the decoder will not be able to read it.
If this process did not solve the booting problem of your decoder then your drive has a problem that you need to change it.

HOW TO INSTALL INTELSAT 68.5° AND YAMAL 54.9° WITH A SINGLE SATELLITE DISH.

Yamal 54.9°E is the satellite which champion TV Ghana limited is operating.

Whilst intelsat 68.5°E is also a satellite which most of Islamic and Christian channels like;

Emmanuel TV, love World TV ABN, Champions TV Nigeria and many more are operating. 

To start the installation,you need a full set of 90cm sized satellite dish,extra lnbf,satellite cable and 2.5mm electric cable or any had cable for binding.

You will first track yamal 54.9 with your dish, using these tps (transponders):

Frequency : Polarization: Symbolrate :

11008                      V              05000

11045                      V              40000

NOTE:This satellite is below DSTV position.

Now that you have finished with Yamal,twist about 2 yards of the satellite cable around the lnbf and bind it with the electric cable for the lnbf to get a stem of about 30cm long.

You are now going to track intelsat 68.5 using this tp:

Frequency : Polarization : Symbolrate:

12722                       V             26655

Now you have input the above tp, attach your lnbf to the dish that you have tracked yamal 54.9 with, and search for the signal.

NOTE :After you have tracked both satellites ,you have to scan with blind scan to get all available channels.
I would like you to keep in mind that, it is not only Intelsat and Yamal that you can use this type of installation for.
If these two satellites are not available in your country or area and you have a satellite with such positions or degrees ,you can track them together with the same process I have shown to you here.

HOW TO TRACK BADR7 AND MULTITV WITH SINGLE DISH.

I would like to show you how to track Badr7 satellite at 26.0°E and Astra 2F at 28.2° together with single dish. Badr7 is where Volta 1 TV, Capital TV and Channel i which are showing the Russia 2018 World Cup for free are located. 

To track both satellites together, I will recommend for you to use 90cm sized satellite dish rather than 60cm. Having your 90cm dish, track Astra 2F at 28.2°E multitv position with;

Freq(11595), Pol(V), SR(30000) to get the highest signal. 

After getting the highest signal for above tp, lift up the dish a little bit to reduce the signal then input this tp (10970) v (27500) for Badr7.

You will see that the signal from both satellites will be reduced but you will get all the channels correctly and you can now watch the World Cup with two satellites using a single dish without Diseqc.

CORE TV is also showing some of the World Cup matches at this same Astra 2F position with;

Freq(11675), Pol(H), SR(30000).

HOW TO DETECT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FAKE AND GENUINE STRONG LNB.

Strong lnb has become the most preferred lnb for most satellite installers due to its high signal boosting.

Because of this, there are lots of fake strong lnb lookalike in the market. Since the fake and the genuine ones looksalike, I'm going to show you only one feature that you can use to differentiate between them.

The type of strong technology lnb I'm going to talk about is the one with flat bottom which comes with red, white and blue labeled box as shown in the image below.

You can see from the image above that the only difference is the surface or eye of both lnbs. The one on the left side has a pointed surface and the one on the right has a hollow surface. So in this case the genuine one is the one on the right which has a hollow surface whilst the fake has pointed surface.

Both fake and the genuine lnb works but the difference is, there are some satellites which the fake one can not track or pick the signal because of its low signal strength so when ever you are buying strong lnb try to check this feature on them.

HOW TO SOLVE NO VIDEO PROBLEMS OF SOME OF YOUR SATELLITE TV CHANNELS.

Sometimes some of your satellite TV channels will display some of the following messages when you try to watch;
No Audio or Video, Service Not Available, No Service, etc..

If you know the signal quality of your satellite is OK and you see those messages, it could be that, the channel is temporary unavailable or closed down, it can also be that the system or the video format of that particular channel has been changed.

Example, if a channel changes its video format from MPEG 2 or MPEG 4 to HD (High Definition), it will not be accessible on the MPEG 2 or MPEG 4 anymore. In this case you have to get an HD decoder before you can access the channel since HD decoder support all the video formats.

Another measure you can take to solve this is by rescaning your receiver because it could be that the transponder, VPID or APID of the channels has been changed.
It will be good enough to restore the decoder before scanning.

By taking all these measures and the problem still persist, then it could be that the channel is completely unavailable.

have started transmission on Nigcomsat IR at 42°E with freq (12537), pol (H), sr (02510).
These channels were little bit scratchy in my area so if you try and you did not get it you can try another day.

Also ECMI TV has also began transmission on Eutelsat 16A at 16°E with freq (12560), pol(H), sr (30000).

ECWA TV has also began transmission on Astra 2F at 28.2°E with freq (11675), pol (H), sr (30000).

14 DAYS left to go for the World Cup 2018 in Russia, as Russia will cut the sword with Saudi Arabia on June 14.

HOW TO WATCH NBCU ENTERTAINMENT CHANNEL FROM INTELSAT 68.5°E.

NBCU Entertainment is a TV channel that has been scrambled with powervu. This channel can be found at different satellites but I am going to talk about the one on Intelsat 20 @ 68.5°E kuband satellite with this transponder;
Freq (12562), Pol (V), SR (2866).

Before you can watch this channel, you need latest updated powervu key for your decoder to open it. Since you can not get or your decoder does not support powervu keys, there is one receiver called "alphabox x4 or x6" that opens the channel automatically.

But before Alphabox can open NBCU Entertainment TV channel automatically, you have to download the latest software for it. You have to make sure it is a genuine and original Alphabox decoder, since there lots of imitations in the market. And after your upgrade has finished the channel will automatically open for you and you are all set!

New Frontiers TV from Nigeria has started transmission on Abs3 @3°W kuband. This is the satellite that host TSTV Nigeria. So if your dish is facing that direction, just run blind scan on your receiver to get New Frontiers TV or you can add this tp to scan manually;
